I began my life as a fundamentalist Christian attending church every Sunday morning at the First Baptist Church in Junction City, Kansas. Eventually going to graduate school I earned a Ph.D. degree in the field of psychology. Realizing the inherent foolishness of the religious right (a religious system replete with ideas inconsistent with the teachings of Jesus), I discovered Christian Humanism, a much more thoughtful approach to Christianity, one that calls for us to live our lives according to the teachings of Jesus as found in the Sermon on the Mount. Then after Bush and Cheney invaded Iraq I wasted no time as I became a columnist for the Populist Party of America and wrote a series of articles chastising our country for its involvement in the war. I have a wife (Ann), a 35 year old son (Mike), and have just recently retired from a 43 year career as a Professor of Psychology.
